An altogether longer ageing process than the established rule for a VSOP, allied to three maturations, which firstly in 350 or 400 litre casks, secondly in vats and finishing in seasoned casks. It highlights the audacious nature of Maison Bache-Gabrielsen. Red barrels are not notorious for bringing tannins but rather for allowing a precise micro-oxygenation resulting in a more supple cognac, in this way gaining smoothness and roundness.
